What is a scene? How to find the right rave for your personality

It’s not as simple as just rocking up to a club and asking for “One EDM please”. If you’re new to the whole scene, you need to know what to look for. Luckily for you, we’re here again to help you work out what you want and where best to find it.

The Hipster

The Hipster just wants to find the best up-and-coming acts in the local area so they can see them before they got big. This is luckily pretty easy, but you’re going to have a 50/50 on listening to the stars of the future versus listening to terrible DJs. Find a local basement club, check out the EDM nights, and get yourself through the door. It’s an adventure in weird sounds, but that’s half the fun, right?

The EDM Lover

So you love EDM, it’s your vibe, it’s your jam. That’s awesome. You go to the real local clubs and listen to the acts that are in town. They’re unlikely to be the super-mega-awesome-big headliners, but they are likely to have some sweet remixes that will get you excited. If you’re a festival bunny, then it’s a really good way to get your fix outside of festival season. Plus, who doesn’t love being in the club as much as possible?

Not me.

You only love Armin Van Buuren and Zedd and you live for the festivals. They’re expensive, hard work and only come around a couple times a year, but it’s worth it. Better get saving, because beyond the expensive tickets, you also need to travel and survive the festival.

You have champagne tastes in a champagne genre, and luckily for you, you can always drink your fill here
